Of all gods of wealth worshiped by the people, the most influential one is "the chief god" Zhao Gongming, who's also known as Marshal Zhao or Altar Zhao, used to be one of the gods in the underworld before the Jade Emperor appointed him as marshal of a mysterious altar, responsible for trading and wealth amassing in the mortal world. Thus, he’s been considered as a god of wealth by the people.
The image of Zhao Gongming is usually a dark faced-man with a full beard, wearing an iron cap and battle robe, holding a precious whip and riding a black tiger. He's also called "Black Tiger Mysterious Altar". Around him, there are treasure-amassing basins, big gold and silver ingots, precious pearls and corals that enhance the effect of wealth pouring in.
